Quality & responsibility

Your standards.
Part of the brief.

Quality and responsible sourcing begin with clear requirements, relevant information and agreed responsibilities—not a generic promise.

Specific questions.
Relevant evidence.

Tell us what your product and supplier need to meet, so those requirements can shape the sourcing discussion from the outset.

Product quality

Define what
good looks like.

A shared product reference makes quality expectations easier to communicate. Fabric, measurements, construction, finishing and packing should be specific enough for the buyer and manufacturer to review together.

  • Maintain a clear specification and agreed sample reference.
  • Record fit, measurement and construction feedback before approval.
  • Confirm material, colour, trim, labelling and packing requirements.
  • Agree which checks or tests are needed and who carries them out.
  • Define how findings, changes and release decisions are handled.

Inspection methods, acceptance criteria and third-party testing arrangements are agreed for the order. We do not publish one fixed inspection standard for every product.

Responsible sourcing discussions

Look beyond
the product itself.

01 / Manufacturer

Understand the production setting

Discuss the proposed factory, production location and any declared subcontracting. Ask which supplier assessments and workplace information the buyer needs to review.

02 / Material

Clarify material expectations

State your fibre, chemical, traceability and documentation requirements. Material claims should be supported by evidence relevant to the actual product and supply chain.

03 / Documentation

Check relevance, not just presence

When certificates or reports are requested, review the named organisation or site, scope, dates and relationship to the proposed order.

Questions worth asking

Agree the checks
before the commitment.

  • Which factory and production processes are covered by the information provided?
  • Does the buyer require a particular assessment, certificate, test or independent inspection?
  • Who is responsible for reviewing and accepting the supporting evidence?
  • What additional checks are needed before the order proceeds?
  • How will concerns or changes be raised and resolved?

No blanket certification claims

This website does not claim that Millspan Sourcing Limited or every potential manufacturer holds a particular certification. Supplier suitability and supporting evidence must be reviewed for the project. Sourcing coordination does not replace a buyer’s own due diligence or specialist assessment.
